Alhaji Agbo Congratulates Aare Musulumi, De-damak on 10 Years of Leadership
Alhaji Wasiu Oladipupo, popularly known as Agbo, has congratulated Alhaji (Dr.) Daud Makanjuola Akinola, the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta, on a decade of leadership and service.
Appointed on August 31 and turbaned on December 19, 2015, Akinola has been recognized for his patriotism, commitment to nation-building, and philanthropy.
Agbo, in a statement on Monday, commended Akinola’s philanthropic gestures, including visiting Agodi Prison in Ibadan, where he paid fines for inmates with minor civil cases and resuscitated a long-abandoned borehole.
He also lauded Akinola’s establishment of the Aare Musulumi-in-Council, which promotes unity among Muslim groups and registers Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland, Edo, and Delta states.
“Today, I join others to felicitate the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, Alhaji Dawud Makanjuola Akinola, on his 10th year of leadership and service.
“His leadership has been marked by efforts to promote unity, education, and community development. Oyo State and Nigeria have been blessed to have a religious leader with a marked difference in patriotism and commitment to nation-building.
“I must commend Alhaji Akinola’s exemplary selflessness, philanthropy, and unwavering commitment to the progress and development of Oyo State and Nigeria. His support for the Muslim community, especially during festive periods, and his annual sponsorship of Hajj pilgrims, are testaments to his dedication to serving others and fostering community growth.
“It is my prayer that Almighty Allah grant him more years, good health, and wisdom to continue leading the Muslim Ummah and making a positive impact,” he said.
