Vigor in the vein: Friends of Deji Ola announce their year end activities, call for more volunteers

A popular NGO in Oyo State, Friends of Deji Ola, has announced its plans to close year 2023 in a very symbolic and inspiring way.

While speaking after their quarterly meeting, The Convener, Mr Deji Ola, disclosed that the NGO will begin its 2 months end of year activities with 2023 World Kindness Day coming up on 13th of November.

He said the NGO is known for its souls lifting initiatives which has not only helped vulnerable people in the society but also contributed to the development of Oyo State.

Ola, who reiterated that his friends are always poised towards any initiative aimed at touching lives of common citizens on the street of Oyo, explained that the organisation has come up with 6 different activities to close year 2023 in a very unique way.

He equally stated that, the NGO has chosen 16th December, 2023 for their Year End Mega Clean Up Activity with theme; “Close the year with a symbolic cleanliness”.

“This is part of our efforts to create a sustainable environment in Oyo State and in pursuance of our thematic priority” he added.

He however called on volunteers who are ready to amplify their volunteerism within Oyo State to kindly join and support the upcoming environment sanitation as they need more hands to keep Ibadan clean.

He also appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE, for creating enabling environment, which has indeed helped the NGO to achieve some of its objectives.

In the last 4 years, FOD have impacted many lives through activities like; capacity building for children, Youths and people living with disabilities, random act of kindness, clothe the needy, one book one pen, free tutorial, food bank, quiz competitions, environmental awareness, environmental sanitation and free medical tests amongst others.

Other activities to mark end of the year include; clothe the needy, special jumat prayer, thanksgiving giving Sunday and a meet up event.
