BREAKING: Oluyole Settled As Akeem Olatunji, Olaide Settle Settle Political Feud

As part of preparation towards a successful outcome at the coming general elections, the Executive Chairman of Oluyole local government, Honourable Olaide Settle and the Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Akeem Olatunji have reconciled and settled their political feud.

The reconciliation took place at the residence of the Oluyole PDP chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola on Thursday January 19 with the entire Oluyole PDP local government Executives and the five principal Executives including Chairmen of the Ten Wards in attendance as well as leaders from each of the Wards.

Details of the political differences between Olatunji and Settle was not disclosed to avoid further avoidable speculations but it was gathered by Western mirror that both allies parted ways during the build up to the PDP primary election in which Olatunji contested against former deputy Chief of Staff to governor Makinde, Abdulmajeed Mogbonjubola, as an aspirant for the federal House of Representatives.

Speaking at the very important meeting, the two warring leaders in their separate address declared peace and genuine reconciliation followed by a warm embrace of each other to the excitement of all party members present.

The two leaders who admitted that there was nothing personal in their political differences and that it was strictly politics, also warned their followers and supporters to desist forthwith, all forms of bickering and gossips that may reawake the already buried political feud.

The crisis in Oluyole PDP was formally brought to an end on Wednesday as both leaders shortly after the meeting held each other’s hands to a private corner where they had personal discussions gathered to be centered around strategizing on how to win the coming election for PDP.

Speaking with this online news medium shortly after the reconciliation meeting came to an end, Olatunji said the essence of the meeting was for peace and sustained unity of purpose in Oluyole PDP.

“The essence of the meeting is for genuine reconciliation and peace for the sake of the party and for the sake of our father and leader, the executive Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde. And secondly, Oluyole is fully PDP compliant and our coming together has further solidified our front going into the coming election.

“A this point I can tell you we are are certain and convinced of a massive victory at the polls because the only way we can show that we truly love our leader, governor Makinde is by putting away all forms of personal interests and coming together to work for the success of all our candidates and the party to ensure we come out victorious come February 25 and March 11.

“Hon. Settle is best as we can all see but in a situation of crisis, that best may not really show maximally to the people but with this one now, it is even more evident that we have a capable chairman, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, who is successfully piloting the affairs of PDP Oluyole local government. I believe that he also needs our support to succeed that’s why this reconciliation is a big win for us.”

In his remarks, the local government executive chairman, Hon. Olaide Settle, who emphatically referred to Olatunji as my ‘egbon’ (elder brother) maintained that nothing was personal in their political differences stressing that peace has been fully restored and Oluyole is ready for the coming election.

“As leaders under the party chairmanship of Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, we deemed it fit that my humble self as the executive chairman of Oluyole local government and my ‘egbon’ Engr Akeem Olatunji, who is the spokesman of our great party in Oyo state, embrace each other, seeing the need to deliver for all our candidates in Oluyole local government and that’s what has happened today.

“To the glory of God we have decided to come back together as one formidable team as it were before the crisis started to make sure all PDP candidates, as far as Oluyole is concerned emerge winners at the polls. So, I made bold to say that this reconciliation is real, genuine and our bond fully restored.” Hon. Settle said.

The party chairman in Oluyole local government, Alhaji Mukaila Adegbola, who could not contain his joy expressed gratitude to both leaders for sheathing their swords and embracing each other in the spirit of brotherliness and genuine reconciliation. He however, warned party members to immediately desist from gossips and side talks capable of creating division in the party.

“These are two political gladiators in Oluyole who were at loggerhead for about four months now. As the chairman, I’ve called them for reconciliation for about three times and I called them again the fourth time to the residence of one of our leaders, Dr Gbola Adetunji about two months ago.

“After all I’m the father to both of them, and I called and told them what I want, which is peace and unity particularly between both of them. It was our being formidable team that produced the executive chairman and that’s why we’re all proud to be members of the ruling party therefore, I don’t want any problem here and all PDP candidates in Oluyole must be delivered victorious.” Alhaji Adegbola said.

He assured that the party is already going about campaigning aggressively and working hard to ensure PDP wins convincingly at the polls come February 25 and March 11.
