Makinde: ‘Your eyes are open but can’t see’— Dare Adeleke lambasts Wole Oyelese

PDP stalwart, Dare Adeleke has faulted Former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Elder Wole Oyelese’s comment on Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.

The Executive Chairman, Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company, said the elderly Oyelese is suffering from “retarding myopia which has blinded him to very glaring realities.”

Adeleke was reacting to the former Minister’s comment published in the Daily Post advising Seyi Makinde to retrace his steps from the G5 group of governors who are insisting that the national chairman of the party, Senator Iyorchia Ayu must go.

Oyelese also said that Makinde is risking his second term as well as surrounding himself with people who do not tell him the truth.

In his response, Adeleke noted; “To the contrary, it is Elder Oyelese who is suffering from retarding myopia that are blinding him from glaring realities. His eyes are open yet he can’t see.

“It is quite obvious that Elder Wole Oyelese is not in touch with the reality on ground. If he buys some eye drops to clear his receding vision, he will see the truth that Governor Seyi Makinde is loved by his people not because he begged them to love him but because he has not betrayed the trust they invested in him.

“The people of Oyo are not easily swayed by words and emotions, they are a pragmatic and intelligent people who have seen the huge developmental and socio/economic strides taken by the governor.” Adeleke said.

“Where I believe Oyelese’s myopia needs urgent medical or spiritual intervention is his misleading statement that Makinde is not with Atiku. It is statements like these that separates sycophancy from loyalty. Does he think everyone is like him?

“Let it be known by Oyelese and his cohorts that Makinde has never worked against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. They should stop fanning embers of discord in our great party. The truth which they mischievously refuse to entertain for reasons best known to them, is that Gov. Seyi Makinde does not have any issues with Atiku. It is not a hidden secret that what the G5 governors are insistent on, is equity and fairness in the party structure.” Adeleke stressed.

“I put it emphatically to Oyelese that Gov. Makinde has no interest in Tinubu or any other candidate, except Atiku.

We must remember that this is a man who donated heavily to the Atiku campaign organisation to support the presidential ambition of our candidate.

However,  it is grave injustice to the south that the National  Chairman is allowed to twist the arm of the party executives and remain. It will set a precedence the south may not recover from” the Pacesetters boss stressed.

Adeleke noted that Makinde has earned himself a second term by sheer hard work and his love for the people of Oyo State: “Seyi Makinde is the star boy and the yearning for his return among his people, is humongous and we are confident that they will vote massively for him again.” He said.
