Nigerian pilgrim dies after climbing Mount Arafat

Another pilgrim from Nigeria, Hasiya Aminu, is dead.

The pilgrim, from Kaduna State, died after she got back from the plains of Arafat, on Friday evening.

The Chief of Operations and Head of Nigerian Medical Team of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Dr Usman Galadima, while confirming the development, revealed that the cause of the death has not been ascertained.

Pilgrims who’re close to the deceased in the tent said she slept immediately she got back, and passed on in her sleep.

Galadima said the development has been brought to the awareness of the family of Aminu and she would be buried according to Islamic rites.

MOUTHPIECE NGR observes that Aminu would be the second pilgrim, from Nigeria to die during the 2022 Hajj operations.

MOUTHPIECE NGR recalls that Hajiya Aisha Ahmed from Keffi, Nasarawa State died also last week after a short illness and was laid to rest in Makkah.
