Call 615 when you observe strange things— Hon. Lydia Bankole charges Orire residents

Following a 2-day retreat for local government chairmen, vice chairmen and HLGA’s held between 21 and 22 June 2021 at Ilaji Hotel and Sport Resort, Ibadan, the Vice Chairperson of Orire Local Government, Hon. Mrs Lydia Bankole has charged constituents to be security conscious and be quick to call 615 when they observe strange things.

In a statement made available to Mouthpiece NGR on Thursday, Mrs Bankole said Governor Seyi Makinde urged them to promote the security control room number “615” in their different localities.

According to her, the government has been working hard to find a lasting solution to the challenges in the all-important sector.

“When you observe any strange things, you are expected to call 615. Every household should be conversant with the number when there’s trouble.

“Security is the responsibility of everyone in the society, those in government will be held accountable.”

“Governor Seyi Makinde equally charged us to consider adopting the Security Task Force approach of the state government and to hold regular security meetings and work with the Amotekun, federal security agencies and the voluntary policing initiative of the state government.”

“We understand that the people of the state expect good governance and dividends of democracy from the council, we promise to operate with the fear of God and put the interest of the people first in all their activities at the local council.

“Once again, Call 615 whenever you observe any strange things or download Oyo State Crime alert Web System on play store.”
