Ogbomoso born politician, Engr. Deji Akande commends Adeolu Akande for his humanitarian service in Oyo state
Ogbomoso born politician, Engineer Deji Akande has commended the Chairman of the Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC), Prof Adeolu Akande for his humanitarian service in Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
Engineer Akande, Former Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development gave the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to him in his House.
He said the visit was imperative due to all efforts he has been making in terms of physical and individual development across all levels.
Engineer Akande who hail from Ogbomoso described the former Chief of Staff to late Ajimobi as very humble, God fearing, and a man with compassion for others.
According to him, Professor Adeolu Akande has given employment to numerous youths across the state and also gave out N1 million interest-free youth empowerment programme loans to support graduating apprentices.
“In his usual philanthropic gesture, he also donated 800 bags of rice to traders in the burnt Araromi Spare Parts Market in Ibadan, Oyo State.”
“Like many others before now, he gifted N1million Naira on Sunday to the First Baptist Church,Otu as part of the fund raising ceremony marking the 100 years of the church.”
“The NCC under the supervision of Professor Adeolu Akande is constructing a N500million ICT Park in Ibadan this year as part of efforts to digitalise the Nigerian economy.”
“The ICT Park is expected to open opportunities for our youths to actualize their potentials and achieve their dream of dominating the world of ICT. Our Youths are doing so well in the sector and President Buhari has directed the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy to give them all opportunities to be the best they can in the world of ICT. The ICT Parks is one of the initiatives to implement directive of President Muhammadu Buhari”.
“This is indeed a gesture from the APC leader that is worthy of commendation, he said.
Engineer Akande reiterated that Professor Akande is a truly bred Town-and-Gown, an Academic, Scholar, Social Scientist, Researcher and Public Administrator.
He then charged him to continue his good work as the people of Oyo state particularly Ogbomoso sees his good work.
