APM Prepares for 2027 Election With Media Team Rollout Across Ogbomoso

The Allied People’s Movement, APM, on Tuesday inaugurated its media team across Ogbomoso land as part of efforts to strengthen the party’s media and communications structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the party’s secretariat, Ajagungbade Plaza, Oke Ado, Ogbomoso North.

In attendance were prominent APM stakeholders and political leaders from the five local government areas in Ogbomoso, including the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Engr. Open Salawu, who was represented by Hon. Isaac Adegbite (Eyo).

Party leaders charged the newly inaugurated team to remain committed, professional and upright in promoting the party and its candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

They emphasised the importance of accurate and responsible political communication in shaping public opinion and mobilising support.

Speaking at the event, media practitioner, Hon. Obalade Kadewole from Ogo-Oluwa, educated the team on the role of the media in modern politics.

He said the media remains a powerful tool for communicating political programmes and informing the public, and urged members to understand the responsibility that comes with the job.

The incoming APM Chairman in Ogbomoso North also commended the team for its commitment and urged members to go beyond promoting candidates.

He stressed the need to properly research and verify information, and charged them to remain credible and responsible in the discharge of their duties.

The Oyo State APM Treasurer, Hon. Sunday Bankole, in his own brief remarks, urged them to remain committed and consistent, noting that dedication could open opportunities for members.

Using Engr. Akeem Olatunji as an example, Bankole highlighted how commitment had positioned Olatunji as a contestant for the Federal House of Representatives seat in Oluyole Local Government.

Other dignitaries present included Hon. Rabiu Bello, popularly known as “Fine Boy”; APM chairmanship candidate for Ogbomoso North, Hon. Amusat Ibraheem; former council chairman, Alhaji Kabiru Akanji; former party chairman, Hon. Adekunle Adebayo; Hon. Taiwo Samuel Olurinde, Ogo-Oluwa APM chairmanship candidate; representative of Hon. Bisi Oluranti, Tolulope Oloyede; Ogbomoso North Council Vice Chairman, Hon. Taofeek Adigun; Hon. Dr. Alao Gbolahan, popularly known as “Shine Shine”; and the incoming APM Chairman of Surulere.

The meeting was coordinated by Alhaji Bashiru.

The organisers expressed appreciation to Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole Wolekanle, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, Prof. Abdulrahmon Rafael Afonja, and other leaders and stakeholders for their support towards strengthening the APM media structure across Ogbomoso.

The inauguration marks another step in the APM’s preparations for effective communication and mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
