Gov. Makinde’s Support for PWDs, Youths Qualifies Him for National Leadership — Hon. Timothy Olufemi

The Executive Assistant to the Governor on Disability Matters, Hon. Timothy Olufemi, has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde on the commissioning of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) 2027 Presidential Campaign Headquarters in Abuja, describing the development as a significant step towards the party’s preparations for the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Olufemi, in a statement on Wednesday, said the commissioning further demonstrates the growing confidence in Governor Makinde’s leadership and the belief that his experience in Oyo State can be translated into meaningful national development.

He noted that under Governor Makinde, persons with disabilities have witnessed increased opportunities in employment, empowerment, political participation and representation, adding that the administration has demonstrated that inclusive governance can make a tangible difference in people’s lives.

According to the Executive Assistant, the Governor’s record of infrastructure development, youth inclusion, support for vulnerable groups and commitment to persons with disabilities provides a basis for Nigerians to carefully consider the kind of leadership they want at the national level.

“We have seen what purposeful and inclusive leadership can achieve in Oyo State. Governor Seyi Makinde has given many people, particularly persons with disabilities, opportunities to become relevant and contribute to society. We believe this experience can be beneficial to Nigeria as a whole.”

While commending APM leaders, supporters and candidates for their commitment to the party’s growth, Hon. Olufemi also urged them to take the message of inclusive and people-centred leadership to the grassroots.

He called on Nigerians to assess political leaders based on their records, competence, character and demonstrated commitment to improving the lives of citizens.

He further expressed confidence that the APM would continue to strengthen its structures and reach more Nigerians as preparations for the 2027 elections progress.
