Agboworin Sympathises With Victims Of Oranyan Market Fire, Urges Security And Support For Traders

*Hon. Abass Adigun Agboworin*, member representing *Ibadan North-East/Ibadan South-East Federal Constituency* in the House of Representatives, has expressed sympathy with traders and victims of the fire outbreak at the popular *Oranyan Livestock Market* in Ibadan, Oyo State.

In a condolence message issued by his Media Group, Agboworin described the incident as *“unfortunate and heartbreaking”*, noting the reported destruction of *over 100 shops* and loss of goods worth *millions of naira*.

He particularly sympathised with traders in the *gold section* of the market, whose businesses and means of livelihood were severely impacted by the inferno.

*Calls For Security And Support*

The lawmaker urged security agencies to *immediately secure the market* to protect victims’ property and prevent further losses.

He also called on relevant authorities, including the *Oyo State Fire Service, security agencies and the police*, to intensify efforts to contain the situation and provide necessary support to affected traders.

_“I urge our traders not to lose hope. This incident, though devastating, should not mark the end of your businesses and livelihoods. We will continue to engage relevant authorities to ensure you receive the needed assistance,”_ Agboworin said.

The fire reportedly destroyed a large section of the market on *Sunday night*, leaving many traders counting their losses.
