Barr. Fash Remains APM Consensus Candidate For Ido LG — Party Leaders
Leaders of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, in Ido Local Government Area of Oyo State have reaffirmed Hon. Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina, popularly known as _Barr Fash_, as the party’s consensus chairmanship candidate for the forthcoming local government election.
The clarification followed reports circulating on social media claiming that another individual, popularly known as _Mabaje_, had emerged as the party’s consensus candidate.
Addressing journalists on Tuesday, party leaders who attended a stakeholders’ meeting held on *Sunday, August 2, 2026*, described the reports as “false, misleading, and a deliberate attempt to cause confusion” within the party.
The meeting was attended by key party figures including Mallam Muili Yusuf, Alhaji Akisola Ayuba, Alhaji Kamoruden Adedibu, Mr. Akano, Alhaji Musibau Emiola, Mr. Owolabi, and several other leaders from across Ido LGA.
According to the communique issued after the meeting, party stakeholders unanimously endorsed _Barr Fash_ as APM’s consensus candidate for Ido LG.
“We want to make it clear to all party members and the general public that Barr. Olayemi Ajibola Oluwasina remains the consensus candidate of APM for Ido Local Government. Any other name being circulated is not from us,” one of the leaders stated.
The leaders urged APM members to disregard unverified information and social media speculation, and to rely only on official communications from recognized party authorities.
They also called on members and supporters to remain united and focused on delivering victory for the party in the upcoming council polls.
Supporters of Barr. Oluwasina said the false reports were aimed at distracting the party, but expressed confidence that his leadership, experience, and commitment to the development of Ido LGA would secure victory for APM.
The party leaders concluded by appealing to the public to verify all political information through credible and official channels.
