A prominent grassroots politician, Hon. Oguntoye Isaac, popularly known as ZECCO, has officially declared his ambition to contest for the office of Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government Area.

In a declaration message released on Thursday, Hon. Oguntoye, a native of Jagun’s Compound, Oju-Oja, Masifa, said his decision was driven by a genuine desire to provide purposeful leadership and reposition the local government as a model of grassroots development in Oyo State.

The aspirant, who holds a Master of Business Administration, MBA, in Finance from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, said his academic and public service background has prepared him for the task.

He noted that his experience as a former Honourable Member of the Oyo State Sports Council exposed him to public administration, policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and government processes.

“Ogbomoso North deserves a chairman with vision, competence, and the capacity to align our developmental priorities with the transformative agenda of the Executive Governor of Oyo State,” he said.

Hon. Oguntoye however outlined his vision to focus on sustainable infrastructure development, functional primary healthcare, quality education, youth empowerment, and economic support for traders, artisans, farmers, and small business owners.

He pledged that his administration would be built on eight pillars including: transparent and prudent management of public resources, effective collaboration with civil servants, youth empowerment through employment and entrepreneurship, improved education and healthcare, and inclusive governance that carries every ward along.

“Civil servants are indispensable partners in governance. My administration will foster mutual respect, collaboration, and professionalism to ensure efficient service delivery,” he added.

The aspirant equally described his ambition as “a movement for progress, competence, accountability, and sustainable development,” stressing that leadership must listen before it speaks and serve before it seeks recognition.

He called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, party leaders, market men and women, artisans, professionals, youths, and residents of Ogbomoso North to support his aspiration with prayers and confidence.

“Together, we can build a local government that becomes a reference point for excellence across Oyo State. Let us build together. Let us grow together. Let us prosper together,” he said.

Hon. Oguntoye Isaac ‘ZECCO’ is expected to formally engage party stakeholders and delegates in the coming weeks ahead of the local government elections.
