UCH Staff In Ibadan Caught By The Hospital’s CSO While Diverting Diesel(video)
Fresh controversy has emerged at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, after some staff members were allegedly caught diverting diesel reportedly meant for powering critical units within the hospital.
The development comes amid the ongoing power crisis affecting the hospital, with several sections of the medical facility reportedly left in darkness due to electricity challenges.
According to reports circulating online, diesel had been procured to ensure that essential and life-saving units within the hospital continued operating despite the unstable power supply. However, some staff members were allegedly caught attempting to divert part of the fuel for personal use.
Sources claimed that the hospital’s Chief Security Officer (CSO) intercepted a driver alongside a staff member identified as Mr. David, who is reportedly attached to the laboratory department, during the alleged operation.
In a video making rounds online, about six kegs believed to contain diesel were seen loaded inside a bus reportedly preparing to move the fuel out of the hospital premises before the individuals were allegedly apprehended.
The incident has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing concern over alleged corruption and misconduct within critical public institutions, especially at a time when hospitals are struggling with operational challenges
