Oke Legacy Ends 9-Year PDP Membership in Ogbomoso North
A member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Alasa Ward 5, Unit 001, Ogbomoso North Local Government, has formally resigned from the party, effective May 4, 2026.
In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, the OYLSC member said the decision followed “deep personal reflection and wide consultations.”
He recounted joining active politics through the Accord Party in 2013 before moving to the PDP in 2017. Since then, he said he had remained committed to the party’s ideals and contributed to its growth at the ward, local government, and state levels with “loyalty, dedication, and sincerity of purpose.”
While expressing gratitude for the relationships and experiences gained during his time in the party, he thanked the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and members across all levels for their support throughout his membership.
“I remain grateful for the relationships and experiences of the past years,” the letter read in part.
The resignation adds to the recent wave of PDP exits in Oyo State as political realignments intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
