Fire Razes Shops in Ogbomoso, Millions of Naira Lost
A devastating fire outbreak occurred on Sunday at Oja-Igbo, behind Sound Palace, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, destroying properties, goods, and equipment worth millions of naira.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Fire Service Reform, Hon. Moroof Adebayo Akinwande, confirmed the incident to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Sunday.
According to him, the fire service received the distress call at 00:30hrs and quickly responded to the scene.
The firemen, led by PFS11 Oluwaleye, were able to contain the fire, preventing it from spreading to other shops.
Although one shop was slightly affected out of a row of 15 shops, the prompt response saved properties worth millions of naira.
The victim commended Governor Seyi Makinde for the prompt response of the state fire service. Hon. Akinwande urged the public to be fire-conscious and install fire extinguishers in their buildings to prevent fires.
