The Ogo-Oluwa Local Government in Oyo State has announced the suspension of its Secretary, Hon. Oladipupo Sunday Adebayo, following concerns over his alleged involvement in anti-party activities and conduct considered inconsistent with the interests of the present administration.
According to a statement signed by the Executive Chairman of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government Area, Hon. Ojo Oluwaseun Adesoye, and made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Friday, the development comes shortly after the resignation of his political benefactor, Hon. Simeon Oyeleke Adegbola, former Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, who reportedly facilitated his nomination as Secretary of the Local Government.
Prior to the recent development, concerns had reportedly been raised over his level of participation, commitment and contributions to the administration’s programmes and developmental activities.
The council noted that the decision was taken after careful observation of actions and dispositions deemed capable of undermining the collective progress of the local government and the ruling party’s cohesion at the grassroots.
It stressed that the administration considers loyalty, discipline, accountability and collective responsibility as essential qualities expected of every political appointee serving under its leadership.
The chairman added that no appointee would be allowed to work at cross-purposes with the administration’s vision for good governance, grassroots development and party unity.
The suspension, therefore, reinforces the administration’s commitment to maintaining unity, discipline and dedication among its officials while prioritising the overall development of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government.
The chairman further assured residents that the administration remains focused on delivering dividends of democracy and will not be distracted by activities capable of causing disaffection within its ranks.
