The Iyaloja General of Oyo State, Princess Folashade Azeezat Abeo Nurudeen, has commended the expansion of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) Makinde/Adekanmbi Campaign Council to accommodate traders and artisans.
Princess Nurudeen expressed excitement over the appointment of Oloye Benedict Akika JP, Founder of Omituntun Benedict Forum (OBF), as Coordinator of the Traders/Artisans Mobilisation Committee.
She described the inclusion of traders and artisans as a welcome development, given their role in the economic and social life of the state.
The Iyaloja General noted that Akika, who serves as patron to several traders’ and artisans’ associations, has established relationships with the groups, making his appointment an opportunity to strengthen engagement across the state.
She expressed optimism that the consideration represents an assurance that their concerns and welfare are being recognised, and offers an opportunity for government to demonstrate commitment through meaningful engagement and practical policies.
Princess Nurudeen urged that the inclusion should translate into concrete initiatives that promote businesses, improve the operating environment and enhance economic well-being. She wished Oloye Benedict Akika success in his new assignment.
