Speaking at the event, Ashamu noted his family’s longstanding relationship with the union, recalling that his late grandmother had been a prominent stakeholder in the association during her lifetime.

The event brought together members of the tailoring profession, industry stakeholders, community leaders and invited guests to celebrate the contributions of tailors to the local economy and mobilise support for the proposed secretariat.

The ₦200 million project is intended to provide a modern administrative and operational centre for the union, strengthen its organisational capacity and support the professional development of members across the zone.

The programme also highlighted the important role of tailoring and other vocational professions in promoting entrepreneurship, skills development and sustainable livelihoods.

Ashamu’s participation reflected his continued engagement with professional associations and community organisations across Afijio/Oyo East/Oyo West/Atiba Federal Constituency, particularly those involved in enterprise development.

Other dignitaries in attendance included Senator Monsurat Sunmonu; Hon. Sakiru Ojo, Director-General of the Seun Ashamu Campaign Council; APM Secretary, Hon. Oyelami Oyeyemi; APM State Executive Secretary, Prince Wale Fariogun; Secretary of Oyo East Local Government, Hon.
