Tinubu Approves N438bn Road Projects, Trailer Park Concessions Across 7 States
President *Bola Tinubu* has approved eight road projects and several trailer park concessions worth over *N438 billion* across seven states of the federation.
The Minister of State for Works, *Bello Goronyo*, disclosed this on Wednesday after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The projects cover *Ekiti, Ogun, Rivers, Niger, Lagos, Abia and Osun states*.
*Approved Road Projects*
1. *N159.83 billion* for the reconstruction of the Ado-Ekiti–Iyin–Aramoko–Itawure–Osun border road in *Ekiti State*.
2. *N54.12 billion* for the variation order for the rehabilitation of the Abeokuta–Iboro–Ilaro Road in *Ogun State*.
3. *N74.51 billion* for the reconstruction of the 15km Port Harcourt–Eleme Junction–Onne Port Junction section of the East-West Road in *Rivers State*.
4. *N54.52 billion* for Phase II rehabilitation of the Ado-Ekiti–Afe Babalola University Road in *Ekiti State* – part of the Ado–Ijan–Iluomobi–Imesi–Ondo border route.
5. *N94.24 billion* for the construction of the Ilara–Iselu Road, Phases II–V in *Ogun State*.
*Highway and Trailer Park Concessions – PPP*
6. *N56.75 billion* for the development of the 7.9km Dikko–Maje section of the Suleja–Minna Road in *Niger State*.
7. *N96.43 billion* for the operation and maintenance of the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway in *Lagos and Oyo states*.
8. *N19.70 billion* for the development of a greenfield trailer park at Aro-Ngwa in *Abia State*.
The Council also approved key projects in the health sector, including the overhaul of the *National Hospital, Abuja*, and the construction of a *N302 billion* cancer treatment centre.
The President further directed that funds recovered by the *Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC)* be diverted to the *Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)* to sustain its funding obligations.
