The lawmaker representing Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Abass Adigun Agboworin, has called for increased investment in Nigerian youth, describing them as the driving force of the nation’s future.

Agboworin made the call on Tuesday in a statement issued by his Media Group to commemorate the *2026 International Youth Day*. He celebrated the courage, creativity, resilience and enormous potential of young Nigerians.

According to him, Nigerian youths are not merely leaders of tomorrow but active contributors to national development today.

He stressed the need to create an environment where young people can acquire relevant skills, pursue quality education, build businesses and participate meaningfully in governance.

“Youth empowerment must go beyond rhetoric,” Agboworin said. “Governments, the private sector and other stakeholders must deepen investments in education, vocational training, entrepreneurship, technology, sports and other areas capable of unlocking the potential of our young people.”

The lawmaker also encouraged Nigerian youths to remain focused, innovative and committed to excellence.

He assured them that their talents and contributions remain essential to building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
