Oyo Lawmaker, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Hails Baba Saka Balogun’s Legacy at 90

…Describes Him as a Father Figure, Bridge Builder

The lawmaker representing Ogbomoso North State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bisi Oluranti Micheal, has congratulated elder statesman and politician, Dr. Saka Balogun, on the occasion of his 90th birthday.

In a congratulatory message issued on Monday, Hon. Bisi Oluranti described Dr. Balogun as a father figure, a repository of wisdom, and one of the political architects whose contributions have continued to shape governance and public service in Oyo State.

Dr. Balogun, a former Chief of Staff to the late Governor Adebayo Alao-Akala, currently serves as the Chairman of the Advisory Council to Governor Seyi Makinde. He is widely regarded as one of the most experienced and respected political leaders in the state.

The lawmaker noted that attaining the age of 90 is a milestone that deserves celebration, not only for the longevity but also for the decades of selfless service, mentorship and statesmanship that Dr. Balogun has rendered to Oyo State and Nigeria at large.

“Today we celebrate not just 90 years of life, but 90 years of impact, wisdom and service to humanity. Baba Saka Balogun is a man whose life has been devoted to the growth of Oyo State. From his days as Chief of Staff to the late Governor Alao-Akala to his current role as Chairman of the Advisory Council to Governor Makinde, he has continued to offer guidance rooted in experience and patriotism,” Hon. Oluranti said.

She further described the celebrant as a bridge-builder and a leader whose counsel has helped successive administrations in the state navigate complex political and governance challenges.

According to him, Dr. Balogun’s humility, accessibility and commitment to the welfare of the people have earned him the respect of politicians, traditional rulers and citizens across the state.

“As a young politician, I have personally benefited from Baba’s wealth of experience. His door is always open, and his advice is always guided by the interest of the people and the progress of Oyo State. At 90, he remains mentally alert, politically relevant and deeply committed to the development of our dear state,” the lawmaker added.

Hon. Oluranti however prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Dr. Saka Balogun more years in sound health, peace and strength to continue to serve as a guiding light for the younger generation of leaders.

“On behalf of the good people of Ogbomoso North State Constituency, I celebrate Baba on this remarkable age. May Allah continue to bless him with good health, wisdom and the grace to witness many more years. Oyo State is proud of him,” she said.
