*Agbeti Solidarity Group in Ogbomoso North Breaks Away, Backs Makinde, APM*
Members of the Agbeti Solidarity Group in Ogbomoso North have announced their disassociation from Alhaji Rasaq Kareem Gbadegesin, popularly known as Agbeti, and reaffirmed their loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, and the Allied Peoples Movement, APM.
The declaration was made today during a strategic meeting of party stakeholders, appointees, and elected officials held in Ogbomoso.
Addressing members, Hon. Kabir Akanji Ayoade, former Local Government Chairman, said the meeting was convened to formally dissociate from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and to pledge total support for all candidates presented by the APM.
“Every member present at this meeting today disassociates themselves from any form of PDP. All candidates presented by the APM party shall emerge and we shall support them with our full efforts,” he said.
Also speaking, Hon. Jimoh Sikiru, PDP/APM Chairman, Ogbomoso North, disclosed that on Monday, July 6, 2026, Alhaji Gbadegesin Rasaq Kareem, GRK Agbeti, resigned his position as a member of the Oyo State Advisory Council.
According to him, following the resignation, members present at the meeting no longer have any association with Agbeti “as he has deviated from the loyalty of our dear principal, Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and the Presidential Candidate of the APM.”
Hon. Hamzat, former PDP Chairman, Ogbomoso North, added that APM candidates are the ones the group will work for “with full support and effort without looking back or yielding to any leader who has decided to stay in the PDP.”
Speakers at the meeting said there was “no cause for alarm” over Agbeti’s decision, stressing that the group was not fighting him but had only taken a new political direction.
The meeting had in attendance Hon. Kabir Akanji Ayoade; Hon. Jimoh Sikiru; Hon. Mrs. Oluwakemi Alabi, Oloriagba 1; Hon. Mrs. Bolanle Olaniyi, Omooseparo; Hon. Hamzat; Hon. Opadiran Stephen; Hon. Kehinde; Hon. Risikat; Hon. Michael; Hon. Ayilara; supervisory councillors, board members, secretaries, and other faithful party members.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the group reaffirmed its “loyalty and full support to Engr. Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State and APM Presidential Candidate, all candidates of the party, and the entire party at large.”
The group concluded with the slogan: “APM: Nigeria First. Resetting Nigeria is our Mission.”
