Oyo Abduction: Protesters in Abuja Call for Tinubu’s Resignation

Protesters stormed the streets of the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday, demanding the rescue of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State.

The protesters, who converged in large numbers, chanted “Tinubu must go,” “Rescue them or resign,” and “Bring Nigerian children now.”

They told police operatives at the scene that it was their fundamental right to protest and asked for cooperation.

In a video from the protest, one demonstrator was heard telling a motorist, “Oga, Tinubu must go. You see what is happening today. You people are also part of it. Take this video. I’m going to post it. I don’t need any permission. You are a big man. Oga, go and tell people that you witnessed this thing.”

The protest follows the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers by gunmen in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

Meanwhile, Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho, has claimed he knows the politicians behind the abduction.

Teachers under the Nigeria Union of Teachers also staged nationwide protests on Monday across various states, demanding the urgent rescue of the victims.
