Jubilation in Ogbomoso North as Ogunlade commissions boreholes, other projects to mark 2 yrs in office

The Executive Chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, Hon. George Gbadegesin Ogunlade, has marked his second anniversary in office with the commissioning of several impactful projects across communities in the local government area, reaffirming his commitment to grassroots development and people-centered governance.

As part of activities commemorating two years of purposeful leadership, the chairman commissioned newly completed solar-powered borehole projects located at Ikose Market in OsupaWard 09, Sabo–Taraa Ward 10, Apake (opposite the former UBA), and Eledu Community opposite Sayo Filling Station along Iresa Apa Road in Saja Isale Ora Ward 06.

Other communities benefited from solar streetlight projects including Papa Ajiboye in Osupa Ward 09, Toko-Taya Street in Sabo/Taraa Ward 10, Under-G in Masifa/Aguodo Ward 03, and Isale Afon Ward 04, all aimed at enhancing security and improving the living conditions of residents, according to Hon Ogunlade.

Other completed infrastructural projects by the chairman are the construction of culverts at Sabo, the route linking Sabo to Akintola House, and the Iyana Afoju Junction route leading to Ajewole Embalmment centre. This, according to the chairman, aimed at improving transportation and enhancing economic activities within the communities.

Hon. George Ogunlade also commissioned the renovated SUBEB Office at Oja-Tuntun, to “provide a more conducive working environment for education administrators and further strengthening the local government’s support for quality education.” Though this particular project remains painting. The chairman said it was part of his administration’s commitment at improving public institutions.

To further demonstrate his commitment to the education sector, the chairman responded to requests from education stakeholders by donating cartons of chalk to both SUBEB and TESCOM schools within the local government area. The gesture was warmly received and described as a timely intervention to support teaching and learning in public schools.

Speaking during the commissioning ceremony, Hon. George Ogunlade explained that the projects had been scheduled for commissioning much earlier but were delayed due to security concerns arising from recent kidnapping incidents in parts of the state.

According to him, persistent appeals and requests from community leaders and residents meanwhile necessitated the official commissioning of the projects at this time.

“The welfare of our people remains our utmost priority. Despite the challenges posed by security concerns, we remained committed to delivering these projects because governance is about keeping promises and improving lives,” the chairman stated.

Hon. George reiterated his determination to fulfill every promise made to the people of Ogbomoso North, noting that the achievements recorded within two years of his administration are only a foundation for greater developments ahead.

The chairman also used the occasion to pray for the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, expressing hope that the victims would soon reunite with their families and loved ones.

In addition to the commissioned projects, the Legislative Chamber of the local government has received a facelift, giving the building a more modern and attractive appearance as part of efforts to improve the working environment within the council and enhance the image of the local government.

Community leaders from the benefiting areas took turns to commend Hon. Ogunlade for his dedication to development, describing him as a man of his word who consistently fulfills promises made to the people. They praised his administration for bringing meaningful development to their communities and improving the welfare of residents.

In his closing remarks, Hon. George Ogunlade assured residents that his administration would not relent in its efforts to deliver more dividends of democracy, promising that the ongoing transformation of Ogbomoso North would continue for the benefit of all.
