APM Chieftain Donates Campaign Vehicle, Backs Makinde for 2027 Presidency
Allied Peoples Movement chieftain Sarafadeen Abiola Onijo has donated a branded campaign vehicle to support APM candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections, including what he called the party’s presidential candidate, Governor Seyi Makinde.
The vehicle was unveiled Sunday at a post-Eid-el-Kabir gathering hosted by Onijo, a lawyer, in Isale-Taba, Saki, Oyo State.
Speaking at the event, Onijo urged voters to back APM candidates for president, Senate, House of Representatives, and state assembly seats, saying he was convinced they had “the competence and leadership qualities required to move the country forward.”
“It is simply out of my conviction that Seyi Makinde and other candidates of the party are the best among all the 2027 presidential hopefuls,” Onijo told journalists. “Without sounding immodest, His Excellency Seyi Makinde and other APM candidates are tested and trusted leaders who have the capacity to take our dear nation, Nigeria, to the destination we all desire.”
Governor Makinde is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party and has not declared for president under APM. INEC has not opened nominations for the 2027 elections.
The donation is expected to boost APM’s grassroots mobilization in Oyo State as parties prepare for 2027.
Also at the event, APM candidate for Saki West, Saki East and Atisbo Federal Constituency, Niyi Adebisi, said he would unveil his manifesto in the coming weeks. He pledged to focus on “sustainable development and people-oriented policies” rather than “political rhetoric.”
“My manifesto, which will be made public soon, will speak volumes about my capacity to lead. If elected, I will champion development and deliver tangible dividends of democracy that go beyond quick-win approaches,” Adebisi said.
APM’s candidate for Saki West State Constituency, Salaudeen Kabir, said the party would run an issue-based campaign. “We will avoid propaganda, blackmail and divisive politics,” Kabir said, calling for “constructive engagement and policy discussions.”
The event drew APM members, supporters and community leaders from across Saki who pledged support for the party ahead of 2027.
