Oyo Rep, Oshine Dumps PDP, Cites Internal Discord
The member representing Iseyin, Itesiwaju, Kajola, and Iwajowa Federal Constituency in the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Najimdeen Oyeshina Oyedeji, popularly known as Oshine, has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter dated Thursday and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman of Mayin Ward 5, Kajola Local Government Area, Oyo State, the lawmaker said persistent internal discord within the party informed his decision.
He noted that ongoing disagreements have continued to undermine cohesion and collective pursuit of the party’s objectives, making it difficult for him to effectively discharge his responsibilities within the PDP framework.
Hon. Oyedeji however expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and members for their support before, during, and after the 2023 general elections, which saw him elected to the House of Representatives.
The letter reads in part: “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the membership of the Peoples Democratic Party. This decision was made with a heavy heart after careful consideration and due consultation, in line with my principles, convictions, and political aspirations. With a heart of gratitude, I appreciate the opportunities, experiences, and relationships I gained during my time with the party.
“I therefore request that my name be removed from the party’s membership register and that this resignation be duly acknowledged.
“Thank you once again for the support and cooperation extended to me during my period of membership.
Yours faithfully,
Hon. Najimdeen Oyeshina Oyedeji”
