Irepo LG House Leader ‘SASSAY’ Quits PDP Over Internal Crisis
The Leader of the House in Irepo Local Government Area, Hon. Saliu Sarafadeen Ayinde, popularly known as SASSAY, has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing a persistent internal crisis within the party.
In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward 5 Chairman in Irepo LGA, Hon. Ayinde said the decision was not taken lightly but had become necessary to better align with his commitment to effective representation and uninterrupted service to his constituents.
He stated that ongoing internal disagreements within the PDP have continued to undermine party cohesion and the collective pursuit of its objectives, making it difficult for him to fully discharge his legislative responsibilities under the party’s framework.
The House Leader however expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and members for their support before, during, and after his emergence as Leader of the House.
He assured constituents that his commitment to delivering transformative representation and advancing sustainable development in Irepo remains his top priority.
Hon. Ayinde added that details of his next political direction will be made public at the appropriate time.
