Mc Mirinda Backs Col. Adegbola for Oyo North Senate Seat, Cites Experience and Grassroots Strength
..Urges Aspirants to Support Him Ahead of APC Primaries

Popular Oyo-born entertainer and political mobilizer, Adebayo Samson Abiodun, popularly known as Mc Mirinda, has endorsed Col. (Dr.) Gbenga Emmanuel Adegbola (Rtd.) for the Oyo North Senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Mc Mirinda described Adegbola as “the most fit and most qualified” among APC aspirants vying for the ticket, citing his record in security, administration, and grassroots mobilization.
According to him, Col. Adegbola brings discipline, structure, and a clear understanding of the security and developmental challenges facing Oke-Ogun and Oyo North,” he said.
He added: “He is not a career politician, but a tested administrator and strategist who understands service.
“Adegbola, a native of Baabo Community, Ward 10, Saki West LGA in the Oke-Ogun area, retired from the Nigerian Army at the rank of Colonel. He holds postgraduate degrees in Security, Strategy, and Conflict Management, and a doctorate degree.
“Since leaving the military, he has transitioned into business and philanthropy, becoming a well-known hotelier and investor with interests across Nigeria. He is widely recognized for community projects and empowerment initiatives across Oyo North.”
Mc Mirinda noted that Adegbola’s ability to lead 13,000 supporters from across Oke-Ogun into the APC in March 2025 underscored his significant grassroots support. He described the aspirant as a disciplined leader who would bring order and structure to the party, adding that his track record and character position him to advance President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda in Oyo North.
He said: “Adegbola’s background in security strategy and administration positions him to address insecurity and attract federal projects to Oyo North. His track record as a mobilizer, with strong followership across Oke-Ogun and the wider senatorial district, is a key advantage.”
He urged APC leaders and delegates to prioritize competence and capacity in selecting the party’s flagbearer, stating that Adegbola’s profile aligns with the demands of effective representation.
“He understands the people, he has the network, and he has the discipline to deliver. Oyo North needs a senator who can bridge the gap between Abuja and the grassroots,” he stated.
The endorsement adds to growing momentum around Adegbola’s political movement in Oke-Ogun as the 2027 election cycle approaches. Political observers note that Oke-Ogun is positioning to produce the next senator after several years of representation by Senator Fatai Buhari from Ogbomoso.
