Oyo Political Aspirant Toheeb Adegoke Adlat Quits PDP, Set to Unveil New Party Ahead of 2027

Engr. Toheeb Adegoke Adlat, the Peoples Democratic Party’s 2023 House of Representatives candidate for Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency, has resigned from the PDP, citing a lingering internal crisis and the need for a clearer political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a press statement issued on Wednesday, May 7, 2026, Adlat said his decision followed “deep personal reflection and wide consultation with associates, supporters, and political stakeholders.”

His resignation letter has been submitted to the PDP Ward Chairman of Ward 11, Akinyele Local Government, formally ending years of active participation within the party.

Adlat also requested that all his personal details — including name, NIN, email address, and phone number — be deleted from PDP records and registrations.

While announcing his exit, Adlat reaffirmed his loyalty to Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, saying his governance philosophy “continues to inspire many young progressive politicians across the state, including myself.”

The former PDP candidate however disclosed that he will officially unveil a new political party in the coming days. He said the platform will serve as the vehicle for his grassroots-driven political movement and his renewed ambition to represent Akinyele/Lagelu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Adlat contested the Akinyele/Lagelu seat under the PDP in the 2023 elections.
