Iranian Missile Strike on Kuwait Base Injures Americans as Trump Weighs Iran Peace Proposal
An Iranian missile strike on Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait has reportedly injured several Americans, as President Donald Trump considers whether to accept Tehran’s latest peace proposal or return to war.
The injuries, sustained within the last 24 hours, affected both contractors and active-duty personnel, a source told Bloomberg News on Saturday.
The casualties were minor and occurred after Kuwaiti air defenses intercepted an incoming Fategh-110 missile.
Debris from the interception seriously damaged two MQ-9 Reaper drones at the base. Each drone costs about $30 million.
Recall that President Trump met with his national security team on Friday.
He said he plans to make a “final determination” on a deal with Iran that would extend a ceasefire for 60 days, reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and set up further negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program while the U.S. lifts its blockade.
Located about 20 miles from the Iraqi border, Ali Al Salem Air Base hosted U.S. troops during Operation Iraqi Freedom.
U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
