Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Rep Candidate Hon. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, PhD, Congratulates Oyo Ex-Deputy Governor Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi on PDP Governorship Primary Victory

Hon. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, PhD, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for Ibadan North-East/South-East Federal Constituency, has congratulated Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, former Oyo State Deputy Governor, on his emergence as the party’s governorship candidate in the primary held on 24 May 2026.

In a statement issued to journalists on Monday, Adekanmbi-Akinseye commended the delegates for their decision and called for party unity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

She also outlined her legislative agenda for Ibadan North-East and South-East, saying her focus would be on delivering measurable improvements in livelihoods and public services. Her priorities include promoting quality education and vocational training, improving healthcare delivery, and enhancing public sanitation through the provision of modern public toilets. She further pledged to facilitate the installation of solar-powered street lighting across communities to strengthen security and support local economic activity.

On economic development, Adekanmbi-Akinseye said she would work to boost agriculture with an export-oriented approach, expand welfare support for widows, and create employment opportunities for young people through innovative and productive ventures both within Nigeria and abroad. She also proposed the introduction of a revolving fund to provide accessible capital for grassroots traders and small business owners, enabling them to scale operations and achieve financial stability.

Adekanmbi-Akinseye urged PDP stakeholders across Oyo State to coordinate efforts at the ward and local government levels, stressing that a cohesive structure would be decisive for the party’s success in 2027. She reaffirmed her commitment, alongside her constituency, to drive grassroots mobilization and strengthen the party’s presence at the community level.
