Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Resigns from PDP, Cites Internal Party Challenges
The Honourable Member representing Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency at the 10th National Assembly, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola, has formally resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a resignation letter addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman, Mayin Ward 10, Surulere Local Government Area, Oyo State, and made available through his Senior Legislative Aide, Atanda Hammed, the lawmaker cited lingering internal party discord within the party as key reasons for his decision.
He noted that the prevailing internal disagreements within the PDP have continually hinder effective cohesion and the collective pursuit of party objectives, making it difficult to fully discharge his responsibilities within the party framework.
The Honourable Member expressed deep appreciation to the PDP leadership, stakeholders, and party members for their support before, during, and after the 2023 general elections, which saw him elected to the House of Representatives. He also extended gratitude to the esteemed constituents of Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere for the trust and mandate they entrusted to him.
According to him, the decision to resign was not taken lightly but was necessary at this time in order to better align with his commitment to effective representation and uninterrupted service to his constituents.
He unequivocally reassured the public that his resolute commitment to delivering transformative representation and advancing sustainable development remains his foremost priority. He further indicated that comprehensive details concerning his prospective political trajectory will be duly communicated in the appropriate course of time.
