After Primary Win, Adekanmbi-Akinseye Salutes Wike, PDP NWC, Gbolarumi for Support
IBADAN, Nigeria — Hon. Adejoke Adekanmbi-Akinseye, Ph.D., PDP candidate for Ibadan North-East and South-East Federal Constituency, thanked PDP National Leader Barr. Nyesom Wike, the National Working Committee, Ex-Oyo State Deputy Governor His Excellency Barr. Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, and party members for their support following the 17 May 2026 primary.
In a statement issued on 23 May 2026, Adekanmbi-Akinseye commended the PDP National Working Committee for conducting the process with neutrality and adherence to internal democratic standards. She said the committee’s handling of the exercise gave aspirants and delegates confidence in the outcome.
The statement expressed appreciation to PDP National Leader Barr. Nyesom Wike for his consistent support for women’s participation and leadership within the party, the National Working Committee, led by National Chairman Alhaji Abdulraman Muhammed, National Secretary Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, National Organising Secretary Hon. Bature, and National Women Leader Prof. Adenike Ogunse, she stated “They demonstrated a commitment to due process and their leadership upheld the party’s values at a decisive moment.”
Also she appreciated the Ex-Oyo State Deputy Governor His Excellency Barr. Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi for his support.
The statement further acknowledged other party leaders who supported her during the primaries , including Chief Olatinwo Adekunle, Hon. Adewusi Adegbola, Hon. Odeyemi Kabir, Hon. Ibitoye, Hon. Lucky, Hon. Olaniyi Stephen, The State executives, and the local government and ward executives across both constituencies.

Adekanmbi-Akinseye said she would uphold the PDP constitution, provide accountable representation for Ibadan North-East and South-East, and ensure that supporters would have no cause for regret. She added that preparations for the 2027 general election would focus on integrity and collective representation, and that the PDP remained united and stable in Oyo State.
