Wife of Oyo Deputy Gov Celebrates Birthday with Prayers and Ramadan Packages
It was a special Monday as Chief (Mrs.) Ajibola Lawal, wife of the Oyo State Deputy Governor, hosted Jamuiyyat Solihat for the annual Ramadan prayer at her residence in Bashorun, Ibadan.
The event also served as a celebration of her birthday, featuring special prayers and donations.
The gathering included members of the Onimole Widows, who are supported by the Deputy Governor’s wife.
Also in attendance were Oyo government officials, including the Commissioner for Special Duties, Alhaja Joke Sanni, Mrs. Adelabu (wife of the Commissioner of Establishment and Training), permanent secretaries, and others.
During the prayer session, representative of Onimole Widows praised the Deputy Governor’s wife, highlighting her long-standing support and care for widows. She noted her efforts to alleviate their stress and pain through empowerment programs and business loans.
The special prayer, which began with a Muqadimot led by Alhaja Saodat Akande, followed by a complete recitation of the Quran by members of the Jamuiyyat Soliat and staff of the Deputy Governor.
Mama Tede, who was sponsored to Hajj by the Oyo State Deputy Governor, delivered the Khutbah after the Quran recitation.
She expressed gratitude to Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal for the opportunity to go on Hajj in 2025 and for fulfilling his promises.
She prayed for the Deputy Governor and his wife, acknowledging the rewards for good deeds.
The guest lecturer however described the Deputy Governor and his wife as a blessing to the Jammuiyyat Soliat Alassalatu, noting their tremendous support over the years.
Quoting from Suratul Hajj, she encouraged good deeds, especially during Ramadan, and prayed for the Deputy Governor’s reward.
At the event, the Deputy Governor announced a donation of staple foods, including bags of rice, and a giant donation as part of his support for the completion of its mosque currently undergoing construction.
Other notable donors at the event included Irepo Chairman LG Alhaji TT, Commissioner for Special Duties Joke Sanni, Irepo PDP Chairman Olawoyin, Alhaji Sanni, and others.
