Oyo Deputy Gov Charges Ansar-u-deen to Continue Preaching Against Bad Acts for the Youth
Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barr. Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has urged the Ansar-ud-deen Society of Nigeria to continue praying against bad acts among the youth and integrate them into society, recognizing that they are the leaders of tomorrow.
During a meeting on Friday, the Deputy Governor, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musbau Babatunde, highlighted the importance of the youth as future leaders.
He called on the association to address the issue of young people being negatively influenced by hard drugs, cultism, and other social vices.
The SSG emphasized the need for the association to preach against bad acts for the youth, underscoring their crucial role in society.
He expressed gratitude for their visit and noted Governor Makinde’s commitment to the people, promising continued collaboration with religious organizations.
He also encouraged the Islamic association to pray for the success of the current administration’s ongoing developmental projects throughout Oyo State.
Earlier, the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, in a statement signed by its National President, Prince Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem SAN, thanked the Deputy Governor for hosting them, describing him and Governor Seyi Makinde as leaders who prioritize accessibility, accountability, and improving the lives of the people.
The statement commended the transformation in Oyo State under Governor Makinde’s leadership, particularly in education, agribusiness, and security, which have strengthened public confidence.
It highlighted the administration’s strategic investments in infrastructure, urban renewal, agribusiness development, education, and security, which reinforce Oyo State’s identity as a pace-setter.
The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria has been dedicated to promoting Islamic education, moral development, and community advancement since its inception. The society has contributed significantly to education, healthcare, and social welfare, supporting government efforts in nation-building.
Recent initiatives have focused on expanding access to quality education, enhancing community healthcare through AnsarCare, and providing platforms for youth engagement, skills development, and responsible citizenship. The society believes that investing in young people and strengthening institutional capacity are vital for sustainable socio-economic transformation.
The society requested the administration’s support in allocating land for a comprehensive Islamic Centre in Oyo State. This centre would serve as a hub for Islamic and Western education, youth development, community engagement, and vocational training. The society believes this aligns with the administration’s commitment to human capital development, social stability, and inclusive growth.
Additionally, the society requested the issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for 250 hectares of land donated by the Ilua Community for the Summit University campus in Oyo State. This would facilitate the campus’s development, expand access to tertiary education, create jobs, and stimulate socio-economic growth.
The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society emphasized that these initiatives are strategic investments in the youth, communities, and the progress of Oyo State. The society assured the government of its readiness to partner and collaborate in advancing education, moral development, and social harmony.
They commended the leadership and prayed for wisdom, strength, and good health for the Governor as he leads Oyo State to greater heights. They believe these projects, if realized, will shape minds, uplift communities, and stand as a lasting legacy.
