Residents Cry Out Over Delayed Palliatives in Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Fed. Constituency, Drag POLAM
Reports reaching our correspondent through the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) have revealed that palliative materials allocated to the Irepo/Oorelope/Olorunsogo Federal Constituency have been received by the Honourable representing the area, Hon. Prince Olaide Muhammed (POLAM).
The palliatives, according to NEMA’s report, were released to cushion the effect of the prevailing economic hardship on residents across the state. However, findings show that the items meant for the constituency are yet to be distributed to the intended beneficiaries, several weeks after their arrival.
This development has raised public concern among residents of the three local government areas who expressed disappointment over the delay. Many citizens noted that the timely distribution of such relief materials would go a long way in easing the current burden on households and improving welfare at the grassroots.
Community stakeholders have therefore appealed to Hon. Prince Olaide Muhammed (POLAM) to hasten the distribution process and ensure that the palliatives reach the deserving beneficiaries without further delay. They emphasized that transparency and fairness in the exercise would strengthen public trust and reflect true representation.
As at the time of filing this report, efforts to obtain official clarification from the Honourable’s office regarding the delay were unsuccessful. Residents, however, remain hopeful that the distribution will commence soon in the interest of the people.
