Celebrating the Legacy of Sheikh Salaudeen Orikolade Siyanbola Oladigbolu

Two decades after his passing, the life and legacy of the revered Islamic scholar and community leader, Sheikh Salaudeen Kolade, were celebrated in grand style. Dignitaries, clerics, and traditional rulers gathered to honor his memory at a commemorative event held in Oyo.

The late Sheikh Kolade, proprietor of Morkaz Dahawat Islamiya, Agunpopo, Oyo, was a son of the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abubakar Siyanbola Oladigbolu, who ruled between 1911-1944. The event drew prominent figures, including the current Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade I, Islamic scholars, and the CEO of Ocean Track Holdings, Prince Afeez Kolade Siyanbola Ladigbolu.

The Alaafin of Oyo extolled the late scholar’s virtues, highlighting his immense contributions to Islamic education and moral reformation. He noted that Sheikh Kolade’s teachings and humanitarian gestures continue to inspire younger generations.

Prince Afeez Ladigbolu praised the late cleric’s teachings, stating that his contributions to Islamic affairs in Yorubaland cannot be overlooked. Family members expressed gratitude to attendees for keeping his legacy alive, emphasizing that the 20-year remembrance was a celebration of enduring values rooted in service to God and humanity.

The event featured Qur’an recitations, lectures, and tributes, with participants reaffirming their commitment to uphold the ideals of faith, integrity, and education that Sheikh Oladigbolu embodied.
