Hon. SMATO Flags Off Agricultural Training and Empowerment Programme
Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola (SMATO), Member representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has launched a five-day capacity-building programme aimed at empowering youths and smallholder farmers in his constituency.
The programme, titled “Training and Enhanced Agricultural Productivity for Youths and Smallholder Farmers,” is designed to equip participants with modern agricultural knowledge and practical skills to improve productivity.
The training will expose participants to innovative farming techniques, improved cultivation methods, and best practices aligned with global standards. At the end of the programme, participants will receive funding to implement their newfound knowledge, strengthening their production capacity and improving their livelihoods.
Hon. SMATO, who was represented at the flag-off by Hon. Folaranmi Oyebanji, was joined at the event by Hon. Wunmi Ogundiran Masters and Hon. Rahamon Olayide Okunlola.
He emphasized the importance of agriculture in Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, stating that supporting farmers with knowledge and resources is critical to improving food security, tackling unemployment, and enhancing the local economy.
The lawmaker reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of his constituents through people-oriented programmes.
By empowering farmers and youths, Hon. SMATO is investing in the future of his constituency. This initiative is one of many programmes aimed at bringing sustainable development to Ogooluwa and Surulere.
