Automatic Employment Offered To 9 Ex-corps Members

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has announced automatic employment for nine former corps members of Abia origin who recently received the prestigious National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Presidential Honour Awards in their various states of service.

The governor made the declaration on Tuesday while hosting the honorees at the Government House in Umuahia. They were accompanied by the NYSC State Coordinator, Mrs. Gladys Adama.

Otti Lifts Employment Embargo

Governor Otti explained that the gesture was more than a reward for excellence—it was also meant to encourage other young people to remain diligent and purposeful in their endeavors.

“On behalf of the state government, you are going to leave here with a token. But beyond the token, I hereby temporarily lift the embargo on employment to employ the nine of you, except if any of you is not interested,” Otti stated.

He directed the State Head of Service to immediately issue appointment letters to the awardees, stressing that their achievements had already proven them worthy of recognition.
