By-election: INEC presents Certificates of return to winners (Photos) 

Presentation of Certificates of Return to Winners of the August 16, 2025 Bye-Elections

Following the conclusion of the bye-elections held on August 16, 2025, and in accordance with Section 71(1) of the Electoral Act, sealed Certificates of Return in a prescribed form shall be issued within 14 days to every candidate returned by the Returning Officer.

In line with this provision, the National Commissioner overseeing each relevant geopolitical zone today presented Certificates of Return to seven (7) candidates who emerged victorious in the elections. 

These include: 

Two (2) Senatorial Districts:

* Anambra South

* Edo Central

Five (5) Federal Constituencies:

* One each in the states of Edo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Ogun and Oyo
