Aides of Late Jagaban Respond to APC Criticism
Personal aides, confidants, and advisers of the late Rt. Hon. Prince Musiliu Olaide Akinremi Jagaban have come under intense criticism from the Oyo State APC and Ibadan North APC executives. This backlash follows their public statement distancing themselves from the Ibadan North APC’s campaign affairs.
The aides, in a statement signed by several individuals, including Mr. Michael Adegbuyi and Mrs. Kudirat Adebayo, strongly objected to the disparaging remarks made about them. They described the attacks as “brazen, ill-mannered, and thoughtless” and refuted claims about their character.
The statement highlighted the aides’ integrity and sound character, citing their years of service to late Prince Akinremi. They questioned why the APC executives felt the need to condemn them if they truly had no electoral value.
The aides also addressed the issue of the Akinremi Legacy Forum, clarifying that a group of APC LG Executives had falsely claimed ownership of the forum. They emphasized that the forum comprises members of the public who are not necessarily politicians or affiliated with any party.
The statement concluded by pointing out the current complications within the APC, including unresolved grievances among aspirants and the party’s inability to constitute a campaign council or present a nominated candidate. The aides stated that they would not engage further in the matter but felt compelled to correct the malicious misrepresentation of their personalities and reputation.
