Year 2025: Ex-Commissioner, Afonja urges Nigerians to keep hope alive

Oyo Former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Abdul-Rahmon Rapheal Afonja, also known as PARA, Oyo Former Commissioner for Works and Transport, Professor Abdul-Rahmon Rapheal Afonja, also known as PARA, has expressed optimism that Nigeria would come out better and stronger from its current economic hardship, urging Nigerians to keep hope alive.
In his goodwill message on Wednesday, the PDP chieftain in Ogbomoso, lauded Nigerians for their bravery and courage amidst enormous economic hardships in 2024.
While calling for more resilience and steadfastness, he expressed hope that 2025 would be a better year for all.
Afonja, who equally called for continuous support of the current administration led by Governor Seyi Makinde, noted that his government will do more for the people of the state in 2025.
He expressed optimism that the administration would embark on decisive actions that would increase Oyo State residents’ spending powers and ease the economic strains they are facing.
According to him, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde would remain focused and ensure that residents of the state get value for the mandate given to him.
In his words: “As we begin the year 2025, I extend my warmest greetings yo you and your loved ones.
“We had our share of hardships during the last year, but we also learnt a great deal and experienced several victories.
“As we strive for a better future for present and future generations, let’s continue this collaborative and tenacious mindset throughout 2025. We must keep the hope alive.
“To my people in Oyo state, I urge you to keep supporting His Excellency, Seyi Makinde. Let us continue supporting his administration. I am confident that his government will do more for the people of the state in 2025.”
