PHOTOS: Open Salawu: 5 wins N1m each as 100 less privileged empowered with cash

The Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on Project Monitoring and Chairman, Oyo State Project Performance and Monitoring Agency, Engineer Muftau Open Salawu, has donated his annual salary to 100 less privileged people in Ogbomoso, Oyo state.

During the event, each of the 100 beneficiaries received a cash grant of 5,000 Naira which was aimed at providing much-needed assistance to those in need within the community.

About five people that participated in a raffle draw also won an astounding 1 million naira each.

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the event was held on Saturday at Al Hussain House, Sabo, Ogbomoso. 

Recall that this medium had earlier reported that Open Salawu, the Babalaje of Ogbomoso said the gesture is born out of his zeal and passion to serve the people and not for financial gains or whatsoever.

He expressed his commitment to supporting his community and making tangible differences in the lives of the less fortunate.

The Waziri Jari Nupe who equally lamented the hardship in the country, said that the gesture is a continuous process yearly. 

He added that the beneficiaries were randomly selected.
