Police Nab Kidnapping Suspect, Recover ₦‎547,000 Ransom

In a significant breakthrough, Nasarawa State Police Command operatives have apprehended a suspected kidnapper and recovered N547,000, part of the N5 million ransom paid for the release of Cironman Fulani, kidnapped in Nasarawa Eggon.

 The Arrest

Abdulkarim Zakari, a resident of Konba village in Wamba Local Government Area, was arrested on October 27, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. by police operatives from 38 PMF Akwanga and Nasarawa Eggon Division. During interrogation, Zakari confessed to being part of the kidnapping syndicate, revealing that his share of the ransom was N1.2 million.

 Police Action

Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada, has ordered a manhunt for other fleeing suspects, commending the officers for their relentless efforts in combating crime in the state. This arrest is a testament to the Nasarawa Police Command’s commitment to tackling kidnapping and other criminal activities.

Similar efforts by the police command have led to the arrest of 12 suspected kidnappers in recent times. The command is also collaborating with the Fulani community to curb kidnapping incidents in the state.
