Again, Oyo Reps’ member, Smato seeks construction of Police Secondary School in Odanbon in Surulere LG

A member of House of Representatives, representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Makanjuola SMATO, on Thursday, moved a motion at the floor of the House for the construction of police secondary school in Odanbon in Surulere Local Government.

Smato, the chairman of the House Committee on Friendship Group to Pakistan, and the deputy chairman of the House Committee on Solid Minerals, noted that the Police Secondary School in Odanbon in Surulere Local Government was sited in 2014 by the late Inspector General of Police, Chief Sunday Adewusi with almost forty acres of land allocated by the community for the construction of the said secondary school.

He said the development became necessary as the piece of land had been a haven for the wildlife animal which later poses security threats to the dwellers of the community.

The lawmaker posited that the establishment of the Police Secondary School will surely enhance the educational development of the students across the country.

The motion reads: “MOTION ON THE NEED TO APPEAL FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF POLICE SECONDARY SCHOOL IN ODANBON IN SURULERE/OGO OLUWA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

“The House:
Note that by virtue of section 14 (2)(b) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended the welfare of citizen is a basic responsibility of the Government.

Also notes that the Police Secondary School in Odanbon in Surulere Local Government was sited in 2014 by the late Inspector General of Police, Chief Sunday Adewusi with almost forty acres of land allocated by the community for the construction of the said secondary school.

Aware that the site had been fenced without any physical project on the site about a decade ago.

Worried that this piece of land had been a haven for the wildlife animal which later poses security threats to the dwellers of the community.
