Hardship: Agboworin Greets Muslim Ummah On Eid-el-Mawlid, Urges Them To Reach Out To The Needy

The member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan South East/North East federal constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has congratulated Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

The lawmaker, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in a statement by his Media Group, on Sunday, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, urged them to use the opportunity of the period to pray for end of hardship in the nation.

He noted that the occasion signifies a time of celebration and reflection.

In the statement, he emphasized the importance of collective prayer and supplication for the nation’s well-being, admonishing Muslims to come together in prayer to salvage the nation from further collapse.

Agboworin urged religious leaders to admonish their followers to take the appropriate lessons from Prophet Muhammad’s life in their commitment to the country.

He therefore appealed to Muslims celebrating the Maulud festival to extend their hand of fellowship to the needy and vulnerable in the spirit of the season while praying for the country and her leaders at all levels.

The statement read, “I want to congratulate the Muslim Ummah both at home and in the Diaspora on this occasion of this year’s Eid-ul-mawlid, the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad.

“Apart from the fact that this significant occasion is a time of celebration and reflection, it is also a period we all need to fervently pray for end of hardship in the nation.

“At this moment of economic downturn in Nigeria, it is most important that our religious leaders also act and admonish their followers to take the appropriate lessons from Prophet Muhammad’s life in their commitment to the country.”
