Eid-el-Kabir: SMATO greets Muslims, urges them to embrace spirit of sacrifice

Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato, representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithful across Oyo State and Nigeria on the occasion of Eid-el-kabir celebration.

This was contained in his goodwill message made available to newsmen on Sunday. 

Smato, who is the chairman of the House Committee on Friendship Group to Pakistan, and Deputy Chairman House  Committee of Solid Minerals, stated that Eid-el-kabir, which commemorates the Prophet Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail, is a potent reminder of the importance of faith, obedience, and selflessness.

He emphasised the significance of the season in promoting social harmony and reiterating the virtues of compassion, generosity, and devotion by pointing out that the festive occasion is a time of reflection, sacrifice, and solidarity among Muslims. 

The lawmaker expressed gratitude to Muslims for their steadfast adherence to the fundamental principles that underpin a peaceful and thriving community.

He said, “I want to call on all Nigerians to embrace the spirit of sacrifice and work together towards a brighter future for our nation as we celebrate another Eid-el-Kabir.

“In addition to tasking our Muslim brothers to be inspired by the amazing tale of Prophet Ibrahim’s selfless deeds, I also urged the good people of Oyo state, especially those in the Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, to follow in his footsteps in order to improve our communities, society, state, and nation. 

“It is my prayer that everyone experience joy, peace, prosperity, and unity as a result of this celebration, and serves as a catalyst for positive change and growth in the years ahead.

“Eid Mubarak.”
