Oyo Deputy Gov, wife host CCII, Ọmọ Ajorosu to iftar 

In keeping with the spirit and atmosphere of the Ramadan season, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ajibike Lawal on Friday, hosted the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII) to Iftar.

The executives of Ibadan Ọmọ Ajorosu Club  were also treated to a nice meal at the Bashorun home of the Deputy Governor in Ibadan. 

The event, which was a monument to the spirit of brotherhood and unity during the Ramadan, allowed the Deputy Governor and his wife to also celebrate the holy month with members of the two well-known Ibadan socio-cultural societies/clubs. 

In their seperate remarks, the President General of CCII, Chief Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole, and Ibadan Omo Ajorosu, Acting President Mogaji Moshood Akere, described the Deputy Governor as a dependable and very kind hearted man they have known for over 30 years.

They equally appreciated his wife, Chief Ajibike Lawal for being a strong pillar of support to her husband through his political journey.

According to them, Ibadan is so accommodating to both visitors and indigenes and it’s a place everyone always willing to settle down. 

The CCII President General, who explained reason the club has decided to confer award of ‘Most Outstanding Friend’ on Oyo the Deputy Governor, maintained that it is basically to show him that Ibadan has created a deserved permanent place for him in her history. 

He stated: “You are most deserving of this honour by virtue of your unrelentless and selfless service to the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCIl) and Ibadandanland.”

Ajewole added that his impact in the society can not be overemphasized stressing that he was able to resolve about three issues that would have affected the progress of Ibadanland. 

While wishing him and his boss, Seyi Makinde, a successful tenure in office, they insisted that their cordial rapport had generously brought unprecedented development to Oyo state.

In their words, “We have known you for several years, and you have always been a trustworthy individual and a kind man. 

“We will always regard you as one of us even though you are from Kishi. On several occasions, you have been able to resolve issues concerning the progress of Ibadanland. 

“We also want to express our profound gratitude for your wife’s unwavering support throughout your political journey. 

“We pray that your cordial relationship with your boss, Seyi Makinde, will continue to bring development to Oyo state and that you will continue to soar high.”

The Deputy Governor however appreciated them for their visit and wished them a journey mercy to their respective home.
