LG Polls: ‘Your Victory A Call To Better Service’ Agboworin Charges Newly Elected LG Chairmen, Councillors 

The Member of House of Representatives representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency, has congratulated the newly elected chairmen of the local government councils, their deputies and the councillors in the state. 

Agboworin, who is the Chairman of House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in a statement by his Media Group, on Sunday, and made available to journalists in Ibadan, stated that they should see their victory as a call to service at a very critical time. 

The lawmaker, in a statement following the official announcement of yesterday’s local government councils election results by the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), equally congratulated the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on its resounding victory at the poll. 

He expressed satisfaction with the hitch-free nature of the poll as well as the peaceful con- duct of voters during and after the exercise. 

Similarly, Agboworin commended the electoral body (OYSIEC) and security opera- tives for the efforts put in place in ensuring the smooth conduct of the election which facilitated a fair and transparent electoral process. 

While describing the local government as a critical tier of government, Agboworin urged the newly elected local government helmsmen to provide viable leadership that will impact positively on the lives of people at the grassroots in line with the vision of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. 

The statement said, “I want to congratulate all our newly elected local government Chairmen, their deputies and councillors upon their victory at the just concluded local government election in the state. 

“I wish to let them know that the victory is for everyone of us in the party and they should particularly see it as a call to deliver better service for the people at the grassroots level. 

“I am also impressed with the orderly manner with which voters, observers, security and OYSIEC officials as well as the people of the state, for conducting themselves throughout the process. 

“While I felicitate with you, I want to urge you all to see the mandates freely given to you by the electorate as a call to serve, and do your best to justify the confidence reposed in you. 

“Now that you have secured your seats, I will urge you to provide viable and impactful leadership that will speak to the yearnings of the people at the grassroots level in line with the ideals of our overall principal, Governor Seyi Makinde.”
