Your attainment as Oyo HoS not a small achievement— Makinde congratulates Oni

… commends her smooth relationship with former Head of Service, Amidat Agboola

Governor of Oyo state, ‘Seyi Makinde, has congratulated the Head of Service of the state, Mrs Olubunmi Oni mni, describing her appointment and attainment of her career pinnacle as significant achievements.

Makinde equally commended Mrs Olubunmi Oni’s cordial rapport with the immediate past Head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Agboola, as well as her smooth relationship with other workers, stressing that she was renowned for her probity, work ethic and extensive experience in the civil service, all of which made her to be appointed as Head of Service of Oyo state.

Represented by his Deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, the Governor commended Oni for deeming it fit to appreciate the Almighty God over her career, adding that the Thanksgiving event is more than deserving.

He noted that the position of Head of Service come with lot of responsibilities and discretion to forge a good relationship between workers and government which the immediate past Head of Service Alhaja Amidat Agboola performed creditably well.

The Deputy Governor, however, pointed out that Olubunmi Oni’s elevation from PS cabinet to Head of Service of Oyo State is entirely God’s doing, emphasising that this is no little achievement in the state’s service.

He remarked that she was a dashing woman who was typically humble and dutiful when she served as the PS cabinet, adding that she had truly imitated her predecessor’s excellent leadership qualities.

“Now that you are the Head of Service, you must ensure the mutual respect and cooperation between the service and the government. And I believe you will discharge that duty extremely well.

“While thanking all of you, it’s my duty as deputy governor and government to occasionally draw your attention to what I perceive is right or wrong moving on with this administration.

“So, on behalf of His Excellency, I congratulate you most profoundly and I say without equivocation that government rely on your advice as you’ve gathered a lot of experience while as a young administrative officer, Director and PS cabinet and I hope the workers would have good stories to tell about you.

“I thank you all for coming particularly my friends who graced the occasion and I wish the celebrant a successful tenure”, he said.

Earlier in her remarks, Mrs Olubunmi Oni thanked everyone who graced the occasion particularly friends in the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary arms of government of Oyo state.

She equally expressed gratitude to members of Head of Service in both Oyo and Osun states for making the event memorable.

Oni, who said God has used some people as her destiny helper, however thanked Hon. Akinolu Onigbinde for getting her appointment into Oyo state Civil Service, and her husband who married her, as well as expressing her profound gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde for making her Permanent Secretary and Head of Service.

“I want to say thank you to everyone and God bless you all”, she said.

The event was attended by top Oyo government functionaries including the commissioner for special duties, Alhaja Fausat Adejoke; commissioner for environment, Hon. Mojeed Magbojubola; Commissioner for Education, Prof. Soliu Abdulwaheed Adelabu; Commissioner for Justice, Barrister Abiodun Aikomo; Commissioner for women affairs, Toyin Balogun; Former head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Agboola, as well as members of Osun State Head of Service and host of others.
